Problem: 2,600 new cases of bowel cancer are diagnosed in people under the age of 50 every year (Bowel Cancer UK, 2023). It's the second biggest cancer killer in the UK (bowel cancer UK). The symptoms of bowel cancer aren’t commonly known but are easily mistaken for other issues, making it even more deadly.
Solution: The "Don't trust your gut" campaign targeting adults under 50 to educate the symptoms of bowel cancer using real people and their stories to connect just a list of symptoms with reality.
STAGE 1- THE PLATFORM
The design aims to catch the eye of busy commuters and educate them while waiting. It aims to make eye contact and connect to the stories on the posters and billboards, insisting the audience pay attention to bowel cancer and its symptoms.
STAGE 2: THE BATHROOM
Turning a quick break into an education space. Putting the audience into the campaign.
STAGE 3 - THE TAKE AWAY
Allowing the audience to take a reminder of the campaign home with them.
STAGE 4 - THE REMINDER
A social media campaign reaching a further audience and creating a buzz
